The bee hive platform at the rear of the VVF premises was successfully extended on Saturday June 12, following careful planning and organization by the Men’s Shed and Gold Coast Regional Bee Keepers. Several volunteers from both organisations attended the day, and the work was completed by lunch time. The workers then retired to the shed kitchen for a tasty lunch provided by VVF Qld.

This project is a good example of what can be achieved with preparation and cooperation between two volunteer groups. The project was completed with hard work, lots of laughter and good old mate-ship.

This extension will allow the Bee Club to continue to provide good quantities of honey, as well as better access to the hives for honey collection and educational sessions
