VVF Men’s Shed members Kevin, Frank, Wozza and Andy recently completed a significant upgrade to a tennis court fence at the request of the high rise apartment manager where one of our members resides. A quote was given for the work, which was accepted, resulting in a day and a half’s work and some funds for the Men’s Shed. The side fence of the court dropped down to a low hip high entrance gate and fence, allowing unauthorised visitors to use the court. The job was to dismantle the low gate and fencing to allow a new full height fence and gate to be erected in its place

A day and a half later, four very weary members packed up the ute, leaving a very satisfied manager to look over his new fence. This sort of job, while physically challenging for our not so young members, reinforces their bond and mate-ship, and is a classic example of the premise behind all Mens Sheds, and that is support for the members through shared experiences, both present and past.
